Jean Louis Steuerman

Brazilian pianist and composer Jean Louis Steuerman was born in Rio de Janeiro in 1949 into a musical family. He began his studies at the age of four and made his debut with the Brazilian Symphony Orchestra when he was just foruteen. He first came to Europe after winning a scholarship to Naples Conservatory in 1967, Steuerman was a prize-winner at the 1972 J.S. Bach Competition in Leipzig and he quickly gained recognition throughout europé as a soloist and recitalist. His rpertoire stretches across a wide range of periods and genres and ha takes particula care to include late 20th century works inm his recitals.
