Jan-Hendrik Rootering

Since his début in 1980 Jan-Hendrik Rootering has had a very successful international career, appearing at major opera houses in Munich, Berlin, Paris, Milan, Vienna, at Covent Garden and the Metropolitan Opera with conductors including Claudio Abbado, Leonard Bernstein, Zubin Mehta, Riccardo Muti, James Levine and Wolfgang Sawallisch. He holds the honorary title of Kammersänger of the Bavarian State Opera; his large opera repertory includes Wotan, Sachs, Gurnemanz, Marke, La Roche and Jochanaan. During his successful concert career he has worked with the Berlin and Vienna Philharmonic Orchestras, the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra and the Orchestra of the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia.
