German violinist Lena Neudauer (b1984) began playing the violin at the age of three and already gave her first performance with an orchestra at ten. At eleven she joined the class of Helmut Zehetmair at the Salzburg Mozarteum and finally Christoph Poppen. In 1999 she was greatly acclaimed upon winning the Leopold Mozart competition in Augsburg - not only in one category, but in four (1st prize, Mozart Prize, Richard Strauss Prize for the best interpretation of Richard Strauss's Violin Concerto, and the Audience Prize).
