Finnish violin player Manfred Gräsbeck (born 1955) is one of the most distinguished violinists in Scandinavia. In 1977 he won the first prize in the Nordic Violin Competition in Västerås, Sweden and the same year brought him also international success in competitions like Tibor Varga in Sion and the Sibelius Violin Competition in Helsinki. In 1982 Gräsbeck became the first leader of the Finnish National Opera Orchestra.
