The young musicians who on this CD bring together works from all four points of the compass of Baroque-era Europe come from fourteen countries. Jean-Féry Rebel’s Les caractéres de la Dance lent its name to the CD, which also includes pieces by Telemann, Corelli, and Purcell. The highlight of the CD is undoubtedly the well-known Oboe Concerto by Tomaso Albinoni – wonderfully played by Baroque oboist Alfredo Bernardini, who at the same time also assumed the direction of the spirited orchestra. The youthful freshness and the enthusiasm that brought the young musicians together is bundled and made into a thrilling musical experience by his hand.
