Helmuth Rilling is one of the most important Bach interpreters of our day. He was born in Stuttgart, Germany in 1933 and studied there. Rilling blends concert performances with 'contemplation about music' in a unique way, spreading this approach all over the world. International acclaim for his work is mirrored by numerous awards and prizes, including a Grammy in 2000 in the category 'Best Choir Performance' for K. Penderecki's Credo.
