Mendelssohn: Concerto for Violin and Orchestra in E minor. Original version. Rediscovered in April 1989. The 'original' version of the Violin Concerto, preserved in the 1844 autograph Mendelssohn sent to the violinist Ferdinand David, differs from the familiar printed score in various ways, including tempo, articulation, and other performance directions, solo passagework, number of bars, harmony and orchestration. All three movements in one file (attacca).
