Viitanen: Images d'oiseau pour orgue. Viitanen uses four 'soloists': a nightingale (Luscinia luscinia), a pied flycatcher (Ficedula hypoleuca), a great tit (Parus major) and a blackbird (Turdus merula). The composer has analyzed the birdsong by slowing its process down and then reworked his research results into organ music. The work opens as a mosaic that evolves, through ten sections, into a clear continuum - undergoing a metamorphosis at the end of which one might imagine that the cycle begins again.
