In front of a restored famous painting of Mozart, where Mozart is holding an instrument which no one can recognize, lies the score of a work which can immediately be identified as what is generally known as the Horn Concerto No.4. The score is entitled 'Concerto in mi bemol maggiore per il Cornobone ed orchestra'
… Read more. The instrument depicted is the wonderful Cornobone (hornbone, alto trombone). Christian Lindberg was given the chance to inspect the restored painting and has busied himself rebuilding a modern instrument, close to the original hornborne. The instrument is used in the recordings of the four 'horn' concertos.
