Lalo: Symphonie espagnole, for violin and orchestra. Neither a symphony nor a concerto, it is rather a five-movement suite in which the soloist and orchestra converse as equal partners. This is not only Lalo's most famous work, but also came to occupy a secure place in the repoertoire of violinists and orchestras all over the world.
