In these three studies Otto Olsson gave evidence of his pedagogical interest, writing pieces to strenghten technique. But he did not lower his musical sights. Whether he was writing complex counterpoint or tecnhically almost insuperably difficult pieces, his principal demand was the the music be beautiful, both harmonically and melodically.
