John Hartmann



English composer and cornet player John Hartmann, born in Prussia in 1830 and died in England in 1897. Principal cornet ot the First Kürassier Regiment in Cologne, Germany. In 1854 'headhunted' to England, in 1859 returned to Germany but went back to England where he supported himself as an arranger and composer of music for wind bands.
