Danish violinist and composer Jacob Gade (1879 - 1963) Composer, mostly of orchestral popular music. Today he is remembered for a single tune, the familiar "Tango Jalousie", premiered in September 1925. The tango was an instant international hit, was featured in over 100 films, and the royalties allowed Gade to devote himself to composition fulltime for the rest of his life. The royalties now fund a foundation for young musicians.
