This recording follows on from a stage production in which the orchestra joined forces with a dancer. Encouraged by the outstanding success of these performances, the Akademie für Alte Musik was keen to rerecord the works in the studio. Although free from all choreographic intentions here, their interpretation was still profoundly influenced by this experience.
