Carl Maria von Weber
German composer Carl Maria von Weber (1786-1826).
Pianist and music director in opera-houses, among them in Prague and Dresden. A pioneer of the craft of conducting without the use of violin or keyboard instruments. His most famous composition is the opera Der Freischütz. One of the first significant composers of the Romantic school.
