Swedish composer and ballad singer Lille Bror Söderlundh (1912-1957) was loved for the numerous ballads which he composed and performed in the 1930:s. On his own he studied in detail scores by Prokofiev, Stravinsky, Nielsen and, perhaps most of all, Bartók. The folk music of Dalecarlia made a powerful impression on him.
