German composer Johann Rosenmüller (1619-1684). He was assistant at the Thomasschule in Leipzig as well as organist of the Nicolaikirche before becoming music director in Altenburg. After a colourful incident involving some of the schoolboys he fled to Venice, where he found employment as trombonist at St. Mark's as well as the Ospedale della Pietà, where Vivaldi later worked.
