Norwegian cellist Truls Mørk (b. 1961) is a committed performer of contemporary music and world premières have included Krzysztof Penderecki’s Concerto for Three Cellos with the NHK Symphony Orchestra under Charles Dutoit, and Hafliði Hallgrímsson’s Cello Concerto (co-commissioned by the Oslo Philharmonic, Iceland Symphony Orchestra and Scottish Chamber Orchestra). He premièred Matthias Pintscher’s Reflections on Narcissus with the Orchestre de Paris in February 2006 as well as giving further performances with the BBC Symphony Orchestra and Junge Deutsche Philharmonie. A dedicated chamber musician, Truls Mørk performs regularly with Gil Shaham and Yefim Bronfman.
