The Ouro Preto Orchestra presents its latest album, Villa-Lobos, Piazzolla & Mehmari, a celebration overflowing with emotion and creativity. The repertoire includes the iconic Bachianas Brasileiras No. 9 by Heitor Villa-Lobos, a tribute to the Brazilian spirit in dialogue with Bach's tradition; the passionate Suite del Ángel by Astor Piazzolla, with its unmistakable Buenos Aires charm; and the premiere of Canções para as Estações by André Mehmari.
Commissioned especially for this project, Canções para as Estações is inspired by the textual sonnets accompanying Antonio Vivaldi's The Four Seasons, recreating the cycle of nature in music with the participation of soprano Marília Vargas, whose interpretation brings life to the poetry and melody of this new composition.
The album invites audiences on a sensory journey, uniting the classical and the contemporary in a dialogue between Brazil, Argentina, and the world. A milestone in the trajectory of the Ouro Preto Orchestra, reaffirming its artistic excellence and commitment to musical innovation.
