Each year the Lutherans celebrate Christmas Day and the two days that follow with splendour and in music. After the Magnificat composed for the same occasion, the Ricercar Consort presents three festive works by J. S. Bach, in which an exuberant instrumental ensemble, featuring flutes, oboes, trumpets and drums, joins with the voices to express the comfort, the tenderness, and of course the joy that the Nativity inspires.
