David Geringas
World-renowned cellist and conductor David Geringas. Born in 1946 into a musical family in Lithuania, David Geringas studied the cello at the Moscow Concervatory of Music with Rostropovich between 1963 and 1973. In 1970 he won the first prize and gold medal at the Tchaikovsky cello competition and began his international career after moving to Germany in 1975.
