Musica Vitae
Swedish orchestra 'Musica Vitae'. The orchestra is firmly rooted in the classical string tradition. Musica Vitae tours more than any other Swedish orchestra in its genre, and its field of operation extends throughout Sweden and Europé. Over the years, the orchestra has visited most European countries and has also performed in China. Future plans include tours to the USA and other countries. Besides working with the classical repertoire, Musica Vitae has purposefully focused on contemporary art music. To date the orchestra has given first performances of nearly 100 works, written by some of Sweden’s best known composers as well as by composition students at the country’s colleges of music. Musica Vitae also encourages young musicians, and regularly collaborates with young conductors and soloists. One of Musica Vitae’s aims is to open the doors of classical music to children and young people by giving concerts aimed at listeners from the age of five upwards.
