Carmina Burana -'the songs from Benediktbeuren', named after the Bavarian monestary in which they were discovered in 1803 - is possibly the most remarkable and most varied collection of medieval profane poetry we know. For the most part the language from these 13th century poems is Latin.
Chamber version. With Uppsala Choir School children's choir. Soloists: Lena Nordin, soprano, Hans Dornbusch, tenor and Peter Mattei, baritone. Roland Pöntinen and Love Derwinger, pianos.
