This is an impossible production! Sometime I jestfully said to Dan Laurin, the recorder wonderboy, that I think he should record the Complete oeuvre by van Eyck - Der Fluyten Lust-Hof for us. I was totally taken aback, when he immediately said "yes", and it was too late for me to retract. We're talking about the largest collection of works for any solo instrument, excluding keyboard, by any composer, ever! No small deal. In the end it turned out to be more than 10 hours of music for a lonely recorder. May I suggest that you don't listen to it in one sitting. Having said that, itis incredible what an artist like Dan can do withhis different pipes and how he can vary these melodies. One doesn't get tired of hearing him, just listening for too long in one go. This Box is price-reduced anyway - today it is indecently cheap for what you get. Robert von Bahr
