Valen: Concerto for Violin and Orchestra. Written as a memorial to his godchild (who had died of tuberculosis) and ending with the chorale Jesu meine Zuversicht. The concerto brought international recognition to the composer when it was performed at the ISCM festival in the Netherlands in 1948.
