Voices of Nature, a wordless work for ten women's voices and vibraphone, relates to Schnittke's earlier avant-garde style. He was attracted to the music of György Ligeti, and there are clear traces of this influence in Schnittke's use of micropolyphony. In this composition, a single melody is performed as a canon in the ten voices, with the vibraphone serving as an equal eleventh voice. Johnny Rönnlund, vibraphone.
