Allegro vivo

We can no longer tell whether Bizet wanted this symphony to fade into oblivion. Lost to the music world for almost eighty years, it was discovered in 1933 by D.C. Parker, Bizet's first British biographer, in the manuscripts stored in the library of the Paris Conservatoire, and didn't see its first performance until two years later.
