Haydn: Concerto for Piano and Orchestra in F. The outer movements sparkle with typically Haydnesque energy. The slow movement, by contrast, is a soulful 'aria' with the soloist acting as the singer, a reminder that during the period in which this work was written, Haydn was principally occupied composing and performing operas.
