This delightful work was based on a set of piano pieces completed by Kodály 1927. Their composiion follwed Kodály's constant travels to Transylvania and Romania in search of native, folkloric music, which he catalogued, transcribed and recorded. Some of these themes and rhytms provided the basis for this work. Outstanding: Classic CD.
