Turnage's trombone concerto Yet Another Set To, revised 2005, dedicated to Christian Lindberg. The work consists of a sequence of movements assembled over a period of several years. Its starting point was 'Set To', a single-movement piece for ten brass instruments.
The solo part of the work makes considerable technical and expressive demands. It requires both virtuoso precision at high speed and the freedom of jazz delivery, and a range of sounds from extrovert projection, riding over the large orchestra, to intimate lyricism. 'One of the most electrifying works I have played' (Christian Lindberg).
