Sibelius' famous tone poem. It came inte existence as a stage in Finland's struggle for freedom and speech and ultimately for its autonomy, which was threatened by the Tsarist regime. Sibelius himself wrote of his work: "Pure inspiration". Music used in the films 'Die hard 2' and 'The hunt for Red October'.
