A symphonic wrapping of Ole Bull's Violin concerto in A, arranged for solo violin and double orchestra. The work was inspirated by the discocery of an incomplete manuscript of the concerto, composed 1834. Thomessen did not complete the work but decided to shape the work as 'a symphonic wrapping of the original score with the violin part acting as an intermediary.
Classics Today: 'This disc makes an excellent introduction to Thommessen's ebullient and provocative art'.
