Daniel Börtz's concerto for recorder and orchestra came about as a commission from the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra. Symphonic expansiveness and lyrical intimacy exist side by side throughout the work. The entrance and departure of the solo instrument have given the concerto its name.
