Georg Philipp Kress



German composer Georg Philipp Kress (1719-1779). He received a musical eductaion that allowed him to become an acclaimed virtuoso violinist, with a career that took him from the Mecklenburg court at Schwerin to Plön, Lübeck, Rostock, and ultimately to the University of Göttingen as Konzertmeister. Godson of Georg Philipp Telemann.
