This album showcases works by the Romanian composer George Enescu, highlighting three of his compositions for violin and piano. The central piece, *Impressions d'enfance*, Op. 28 (1940), is a vibrant, atmospheric work that vividly portrays childhood memories through virtuosic writing and evocative tone-painting. It is paired with Enescu’s earlier *Violin Sonatas No. 2* (Op. 6, 1899) and *No. 3* (Op. 25, 1926), the latter known for its use of Romanian folk elements and modern stylistic techniques. Violinist Mihaela Martin and pianist Roland Pöntinen deliver these works with technical brilliance and expressive depth.
