Henry Cowell

American composer Henry Cowell (1897-1965).
As an explorer of the world of sounds Cowell was in high degree Cage's equal and his forerunner. Perhaps it was Cowell's fate that Cage was to receive more attention as he who bore to fruition, who completed and defined so much of what Cowell had in fact already brought to people's notice.
