Nicolas Bacri

French composer Nicolas Bacri (b.1961) has built up a substantial corpus of big-boned compositions largely ignored by the contemporary-music establishment. Bacri had the guts to write in a relatively traditional, tonal langugage before musical politics deemed it acceptable to do so, particularly in a country where the centralised sources of subsidy all seem to adhere to a modernist, Adornian orthodoxy.
