Ariosti, Attilio
Attilio Ariosti
Italian composer Attilio Ariosti (1666-1729). Singer and organist, also a cellist and composer. When he is remembered today, it is as a player of the viola d'amore. His harmonic boldness was much admired. From 1716 he lived in London, a composer for the Royal Academy of Music. He wrote operas and six cantatas and six lessons for viola d'amore and continuo.
