Johann Joseph Abert



German composer Johann Joseph Abert (1832-1915). He took over Peter Joseph von Lindpaintner' legacy from Friedrich Wilhelm Kücken (1851-1861) and Karl Anton Florian Eckert (1861-1867) as court kapellmeister in Stuttgart, the city which was then the royal seat of Württemberg. During his life Abert was held in high esteem as a composer and conductor.
